It doesn’t take her long to get back into the lab after the traumatic events of the cave and Mt. Chimney. In fact, she probably should have taken more of a vacation but there’s just too much to do . . . especially after zenji jabami introduced them to his stowaway.

So, she’s tired. Exhausted really. Her sleep has been restless. Despite the bright smile she greets priam conrad with, the dark circles beneath her eyes give her away, “Priam! You’re here early,” he always is.

The smell of fresh coffee brightens her mood. Naturally, she continue past him, gravitating towards her daily fuel, “Thanks for making some coffee,” the laptop case is set beside the counter gently while she reaches for a mug. A light laugh accompanies his question, “No, I did not fight Groudon with my bare hands,” Stormy Silph did though, “It was definitely intense, though,” she confirms with a sigh, pouring the dark liquid into the empty mug.

Eva lets a small smirk twitch at the corner of her lips. The ever-enthusiastic Priam always made her smile. Replacing the coffee pot, she lifts the mug to her lips for a sip. Turning to face him she leans back against the counter, “Sounds like you did a great job of that!” she laughs, feeling a bit bad for not bringing him along, although that would have been one more body in danger, “You’ll come on my next field trip, alright?” she promises with a wink.

Did anything interesting happen?! Ah, shit . . . where to start.

She thinks for a moment, tapping a finger against the warm mug, “Well,” she begins with a sigh, “Groudon was there . . . obviously. The Primal Energy was . . . Out of control,” she shakes her head, recalling the unexplainable things that occurred, “There was another pokemon there too . . . One I didn’t recognize. We got someone to make a sketch. Maybe you’ll recognize it?” Eva sets down the mug and rummages through her bag for a copy of the sketch. When she finds it, she hands it over to Priam. It’s a fairly accurate portrait of Regidrago though some specs are off, “Look familiar at all?” She’ll continue her story after giving Priam a chance to answer or ask questions.

Eva blinks, a smile creeping across her face, “Oh! So you recognize it?!” she beams hopefully. Unfortunately, Priam doesn’t have much else to offer other than the tidbit about the ruins and the statue. After considering its anatomy in comparison, it makes sense that it is possible associated with Regirock, “Huh,” she humphs, upset she didn’t notice it earlier. Regardless, this is now a place to add to her very long list of places to explore in Hoenn. The work is adding up quickly.

Priam’s comment about the others being around Hoenn worries her further. She sighs, shaking her head, “Gosh, why are so many legendaries showing up all of the sudden,” she muses outloud, taking another sip of coffee before brushing the question back into the large pile of inquires she needs to ponder over at a later time.

”Anyway,” she continues, motioning with her free hand, “So they fought – Groudon and that other guy. Groudon’s orb was destroyed in the process, totally shattered,” she makes and explosion sound with her lips and motion with her hands, “But, the most interesting part, is that the Primal Energy somehow made these like . . . fissures into the past,” she pauses to gauge his reaction, “Like, legit, the past,” she emphasizes, “The explosion ended up happening in the past. That must be how Mt. Chimney got so . . . desolate?” she shrugs, “I don’t know, honestly I’m still figuring it out myself. I need to go back,” she foreshadows her intentions.

“I hear another white tree popped up in Sootopolis too after . . . well . . . everything,” her voice dips slightly. There’s still guilt that eats at her for not being in Sootopolis when Rocket attacked, “Remember that tree?” of course he does, but she thinks he’s only seen it once on Mt. Pyre.

“What?!” Eva nearly spills her coffee. She’s quick to catch herself, only letting a few drops of the hot liquid drip down the side of the mug and her hand, “Ooo hot!” she hisses, setting the mug down and licking the hot coffee off her hand while she reaches for paper towels.

“You’ve been to the past?” it honestly shouldn’t surprise her. Hoenn is a hot mess of legendaries messing with the environment. This is the first time she’s heard of this event, though, “Yes, you’re very useful,” she grin, inflating his ego further while wiping her hands and tossing the paper towel into the trash.

Eva nods, “We should definitely go,” there’s just one big problem, “I’ll need your help, for sure,” she smiles, watching him show off his impressive ‘guns’, “I’m too recognizable, I’ll have to sneak in. Your protection is much appreciated, Priam,” after a moment she thinks, “Do you think you could look around beforehand? Do some recon? Make a map or something?” the implication is there. She’ll have to be efficient, in and out quickly and quietly with no time wasted. She’s quick to continue, voice turning soft, “I know that’s a lot to ask, it’s going to be dangerous with Rocket having control of the city. You can say no,” little does she know, that won’t be a problem for the lab assistant.

Praim seems far too excited about the prospect of scoping out the tree for her. She chalks it up to age and a desire to in on the action, “Alright then, Priam,” she laughs, waving a hand to give hit him the reigns, “Whatever you feel will be best,” Video, map, whatever. She just needs to know what she’s getting herself into, “A dangerous adventure,” she corrects with a grin. Eva is beyond excited to sample the tree and compare it to the samples she already has from the two previous Infinity Energy trees she has come across recently. This one, she has heard, is far larger than any Hoenn has seen.

The sting, and subsequent pain, from the spill of the coffee had summoned a creature to the lab. The invisible Mew dashed in through the open doors. A PSYCHIC energy gripped the coffee cup in Eva’s hand and pulled it out from between her fingers, “Oh!” she gasped in surprise, grabbing for the cup that quickly dashed out of her reach, “No! Noooo, give it back,” The Mew materialized, floating idly above them with the coffee cup in its small pink paws. The pokemon very obviously ignored Eva’s command and instead proceeded to inspect the strange, hot liquid that had burned the doctor’s hand.

The creature curiosity is obvious. It’s oblivious to both the presence of the doctor and her assistant. Eva’s words go unnoticed, as well as Priam’s fascination. Its gaze remains fixed on the coffee, warmth radiating between his small paws. Curiosity gets the best of it and the cup is dawn to its lips for a quick sip. The bitterness elicits a twisted face of distaste followed by a quick shake of its head. The coffee and mugs disappears, Teleported to Arceus knows where at the creature’s whim.

Eva sighs, shoulders sinking in defeat. There goes her morning coffee.

Mew is quick to forget about the coffee and instead chooses to greet Eva by floating closer. The pokemon presses its forehead against the doctor’s cheek, happy to see she is ok.

It’s nearly impossible to stay made at it for long. A soft smile pulls across her lips, “Yeah, yeah, good to see you too,” Eva shifts away, extending a hand towards Priam, “Priam, his is Mew. Mew, this is Priam. Mew came back from Mt. Chimney with us. Hid away in zenji jabami’s bag,” they’re still not quite sure what it was doing in the past.

Mew extends its paws out towards Eva, expecting something, “Oh!, Right, here,” she reaches into her bag and pulls out her stethoscope. She gently places it in the pokemon’s ears and bell in its paw, “Just, stay still,” she warns Priam before Mew floats towards him.

Its paw reaches out towards his chest, looking to rest the bell of the stethoscope over where his heart would be.

Mew stirs, chirping happily as the thrum of Priam’s heart quickens in their ears. It seems to enjoy the fact that Priam has a heartbeat just like Eva’s and their own. Mew withdraws the bell form Priam’s chest and presses it against their own. Its own heart races within its chest in a similar manner to Priam’s just much faster. Mew let’s out a small, playful shrill before racing out of the room with the stethoscope in hand, no doubt running off to find zenji jabami and listen to his heart.

Eva’s not quite sure what “pog” means but she shrugs her shoulders anyway, “They’re an interesting one,” she sigh, letting her lingering gaze move back towards Priam, “I’m not sure, I’ think it’s just coincidence. I haven’t found any evidence linking the pokemon to any of the events. The massive amount of energy might have just attract them to that area or time frame,” Zenji did encounter the Mew within the rift of the past on Mt. Chimney which meant it somehow got to another time period and hitched a ride back to this present.

“I want to take it to the tree,” she admits, and Mt. Chimney again, of course, “I’d like to see if it picks up on any of the Infinity Energy,” Speaking of Infinity Energy . . . Eva reaches for another coffee mug to fill again, “I think we still have samples from the last tree to review,” her brows pinch, “I don’t think we’ve examined that Electrivire closely yet,” she refers to the resurrected pokemon she captured on Mt. Pyre. There’s a good chance it could be rotting . . . there’s also a good chance it is still a reanimated corpse.
